Harmon named Women’s Basketball Big 12 Freshman of the Week

Longhorn point guard collects third FOTW honor of the season

AUSTIN, Texas — University of Texas freshman point guard Rori Harmon has been named the Big 12 Conference Freshman of the Week, the league office announced Monday. This marks Harmon's third weekly league honor of the season.

The Houston native had another solid week as the Longhorns split their games with a 70-66 overtime loss to Kansas and a 73-67 victory over West Virginia.

Harmon averaged 9.5 points and a team-best nine rebounds over the two-game stretch shooting at a 43.8 percent (7-of-16) mark from the field. She also averaged 5 assist per contest.

In Wednesday's loss to the Jayhawks, Harmon finished with eight points and led the team with nine boards and seven assists. In Saturday's victory over the Mountaineers, she tallied 11 points to go along with nine rebounds, three assists and five steals.

On the season, Harmon ranks No. 4 in the Big 12 and is also No. 6 among NCAA Division I freshman averaging 4.5 assists per game.
 
No. 15/12 Texas is back in action this Wednesday (6:30 p.m. CT, ESPN+) as they travel to Ames to take on No. 7/9 Iowa State.
